This Festschrift is dedicated to the singer of the century, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, who would have celebrated his hundredth birthday in 2025 and who is regarded as one of the most significant singers of the twentieth century.
Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau was a master of opera, concert singing and the Lied. Numerous recordings bear witness to the standing of this world-renowned singer.
Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau received many honours worldwide, including honorary doctorates and honorary memberships of musical societies.
